2020 Friends and adventures in San Miguel de allende

Having now become proud owners of a home in San Miguel de Allende, we began getting to know the city and the people.  We are finding that the locals and the expats are eager to interact with us.  Our place is close to the Deportiva where pickleball is played daily.  Looks like we made a good decision.

The oddest thing happened when our really good friend sort of attacked Deb and informed us that we were not welcome in their home.  We are at a loss to explain this!  Thank goodness there are plenty of other folks to get to know.

Quick facts

San Miguel de Allende, a colonial-era city in Mexico’s central highlands, is known for its baroque Spanish architecture, thriving arts scene and cultural festivals. In the city’s historic, cobblestoned center lies the neo-Gothic church Parroquia de San Miguel Arcángel, whose dramatic pink towers rise above the main plaza, El Jardín. The Templo de San Francisco church nearby has an 18th-century churrigueresque facade.
